DigniFi on Your Credit Report
In short: DigniFi provides financing for automotive repair and service through dealership and repair-shop partners, allowing consumers to pay for unexpected vehicle repairs over time. Its credit products are issued by a partner bank. Information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable can be disputed under the FCRA. Outcomes depend on what the furnisher can verify, and results vary.
Who DigniFi actually is
Who actually issues this credit
DigniFi is not a chartered bank. DigniFi's own disclosures state that all credit products are issued by WebBank. No FDIC certificate is asserted for DigniFi because the charter belongs to WebBank.
What makes this creditor different
DigniFi finances auto repair specifically — a category where the consumer frequently cannot take the car home until the bill is settled, which is about as much time pressure as any lending decision carries. DigniFi's own site states plainly that all credit products are issued by WebBank. The CFPB recorded 15 credit-card complaints naming DigniFi since January 2025, led by closing an account (3).
How DigniFi appears on your credit report
Auto-repair financing is taken under pressure at a service counter, often without the consumer retaining documentation. If the reported amount financed does not match the repair invoice, the invoice is your evidence — and repair shops keep records. Check the financed amount against the final invoice rather than the original estimate, since estimates and final charges frequently differ.

What consumers report to the CFPB
These are counts of complaints filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau about credit cards, from the CFPB's public complaint database. They describe the company's complaint history — they are not a prediction about any individual account.

Grounds to dispute a DigniFi entry
Each of these is a reason a DigniFi tradeline may be inaccurate or unverifiable. None of them assures removal — they are the angles worth checking on your own report.
- ◆Amount financed not matching the final repair invoice
- ◆Account reporting under WebBank rather than DigniFi
- ◆Financing reported as open after the repair was refunded or the charge reversed
- ◆Account balance or credit limit reported incorrectly
- ◆Payment reported late when it was made inside the grace period
- ◆Date of first delinquency re-aged to extend how long it can report
- ◆Account still reporting as open after it was closed, or vice versa
- ◆Duplicate tradeline for the same account after an internal transfer
- ◆Account belongs to someone else with a similar name, or is the result of identity theft
Disputing an original creditor is not the same as disputing a collector
DigniFi is an original creditor — the institution whose name was on the account when it was opened. That matters for two reasons. First, the FDCPA, which governs debt collectors, generally does not apply to a creditor collecting its own debt in its own name, so the “debt validation” request that works against a collection agency is not the right tool here. Second, as the furnisher of the tradeline, DigniFi has direct obligations under FCRA §623 to investigate a dispute you send it and to correct or delete information it cannot verify as accurate.
Dispute with the bureaus — FCRA §611
File with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. They must generally investigate within 30 days and tell the furnisher. Free, and you can do it yourself.
Dispute with the furnisher — FCRA §623
Send DigniFi a direct written dispute. It must investigate and must not continue reporting information it knows is inaccurate. Keep copies and proof of delivery.
DigniFi questions, answered
Is DigniFi a bank?
No. DigniFi is not an FDIC-insured bank and holds no FDIC certificate. DigniFi's own disclosures state that all its credit products are issued by WebBank.
Why is DigniFi on my credit report?
If you financed a vehicle repair through DigniFi at a dealership or repair shop, that credit account can be furnished to the bureaus. The tradeline may name DigniFi or the issuing bank, WebBank.
What do people complain to the CFPB about most with DigniFi?
Of the 15 credit-card complaints naming DigniFi in the CFPB's public database since January 2025, the largest category is "Closing your account" at 3, followed by "Fees or interest" (3). Snapshot taken 2026-10-17. These are public statistics about the company, not a forecast for your account.
How do I dispute a DigniFi account?
Dispute with all three bureaus under FCRA §611 and with the furnisher under FCRA §623. With a partner-bank program, check your report for the same debt appearing twice — once under the program brand and once under the issuing bank — because that duplicate is a common and genuinely disputable error. Send it in writing and keep copies; results vary with what can be verified.

Crowned Credit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DigniFi; company names are used only to identify the institution a consumer may see on a credit report. Crowned Credit does not promise any particular outcome; results vary by individual circumstances and by what a furnisher is able to verify. Accurate, verifiable information generally cannot be removed from a credit report. You have the right to dispute inaccurate information yourself, for free, directly with the credit bureaus and with the furnisher.
